STEP 4: Have a working draft of your essay prepared for Peer Review Workshop on October 2/3. STEP 1: Check out the Branding Power Point attached below. We will start this is class as lecture. STEP 2: Your assignment is to read the PDF article attached below- Using Storytelling to Strengthen your Brand- keeping in mind your "Brand" is who you are and the skills you have/what you have to offer is desirable for colleges and businesses. Think about how your brand is unique and why they should select you! STEP 3: After you have finished the reading think about a specific college/university/school or job you are applying to. Then complete the following: Type in a Word Document/Google Doc you can have access to for the next few classes. Part 1: Identify your Audience: Write down specific details about what the program/school/position requires. Really search their websites and find descriptors/adjectives/qualities they identify that makes their organization special and what they are looking for in their applicants. Check out the screen shot examples below. Part 2: Identify your story which will illustrate you are a good fit for that program/meets the specific needs you listed in the first question. Write this story out in full. It does not need to be a final draft, but it does need to be more than an outline. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ESSAY STARTED USE IT! BUT BE SURE TO INCLUDE DETAILS/EDIT IT TO ADDRESS WHAT YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT YOUR AUDIENCE. If you haven't yet started an essay, some ideas are:

STEP 2: Complete the Career Cluster Interest Survey EZ- this is shorter than the full length version! STEP 3: Explore some of the career videos/information based on your results. These tasks must be completed and ready to show for a grade by the last 10 minutes of class. If you are not finished when Ms. Boyd comes to your computer, you will receive a zero (0). If you finish after the check, the work is considered late and will receive a deduction of 20 points in accordance with the Late Policy as stated in the Senior Capstone syllabus. STEP 1: Sign into Naviance STEP 2: Add at least one college in "Colleges I'm Applying To". BE SURE THE DEADLINE DATE IS CORRECT FOR THE PROGRAM YOU ARE APPLYING TO. If it is not, please email your guidance counselor to alert them of the change so that all supporting documents (transcripts and letters of rec) are uploaded at the appropriate time. STEP 3: Complete the Strengths Explorer (found in My Assessments). Take a few moments to reflect on this new information and how it compliments or differs from your Myers Briggs results. These tasks must be completed and ready to show for a grade by the last 10 minutes of class. If you are not finished when Ms. Boyd comes to your computer, you will receive a zero (0). If you finish after the check, the work is considered late and will receive a deduction of 20 points in accordance with the Late Policy as stated in the Senior Capstone syllabus. STEP 3: Complete the Senior Rec Survey (found in About Me/My Surveys). I WOULD HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO WRITE THE ANSWERS TO THIS IN A WORD/GOOGLE DOC. You can then copy/paste the answers into the fields and send. This will allow you to keep the answers you submit AND help avoid any tech glitches that might make you lose your work! These tasks must be completed and ready to show for a grade by the last 10 minutes of class. If you are not finished when your fabulous instructor comes to your computer, you will receive a zero (0). Once you have completed, the work is considered late and will receive a deduction of 20 points in accordance with the Senior Capstone Late Policy as stated in the syllabus.
